A short but welcome break from heat and humidity

Thunderstorms are expected in many places this evening. Gusty winds and heavy rain are expected. It will remain dry overnight.

The cold front that brought us some storms on Sunday will move further south, bringing us northerly winds. Maximum temperatures on Monday will be between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius, with bright sunshine. Northerly winds will bring significantly lower humidity.

FIRST WEATHER WARNING DAYS

In the middle of the week it will quickly get warmer again. On Tuesday and Wednesday we will be back at 35 to 40 degrees and the heat index will be back at 38 degrees. Tuesday and Wednesday are Weather days of the first warning for more dangerous heat.

Thursday, July 4th, is also a First weather warning day. It will be hot and humid, with heat index values ​​around 99 degrees. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move into our area from a cold front. A strong storm is possible. All outdoor plans on the 4th, including fireworks, will need to be closely monitored.

This chance of rain will continue on Friday and Saturday. Both days will be hot and humid as a cold front remains nearby. Highs on Friday will be just under 35 degrees, while highs on Saturday will be just under 30 degrees.

On Sunday, drier weather is expected with highs of around 32 degrees and partly cloudy skies. Thunderstorms are possible.
