Two arrested after suspected car theft ended in accident

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Two people were arrested after a carjacking led to a crash in northwest Oklahoma City.

According to Oklahoma City Police, a car was stolen around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The car crashed shortly afterward near NW 16th St. and MacArthur Blvd. found.


Officials say the suspect attempted to leave the scene on foot but was apprehended by a police K-9 and a passenger was also arrested.

According to police, a small fire broke out when the suspect crashed the vehicle, but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish it and officers were able to locate the owner of the vehicle.

No further information is available as the investigation continues.
