Verstappen seemed frustrated by the incident with Red Bull’s Norris.

Max Verstappen expressed his frustration after winning the Austrian Grand Prix, albeit not without difficulties and a controversial collision with Lando Norris. However, Verstappen’s frustration was mainly directed at his own Formula One team, Red Bull, rather than Norris. While Norris criticised Verstappen for his driving during the battle, Verstappen was more concerned about how his race had spiralled out of control. He criticised his team’s strategy and the disastrous pit stops that cost him valuable time. Verstappen admitted it all went wrong and that he complained about the tyres and poor execution of the pit stops. Despite the collision with Norris, Verstappen’s frustration had been building throughout the race. He was confused by his lack of pace on the home straight and wondered if there was something wrong with his car. Although Norris suggested that Verstappen should take responsibility for the collision, Verstappen believed the time for a discussion would come later. He acknowledged that accidents can happen in fierce battles for the lead and expressed his annoyance while acknowledging Norris’ frustration.
