Driver wearing “Jason” mask arrested for possession of weapons

(KRON) – According to Santa Rosa Police, a traffic stop led to the arrest of a driver wearing a “Jason” mask.

At 9:40 p.m. Saturday, officers with the Santa Rosa Special Enforcement Team noticed a gold Toyota Camry with no headlights or taillights near the intersection of Marlow Road and Bay Village Circle. Police say the driver was wearing a “Jason”-style face mask.

Officers conducted a traffic stop, during which they described the driver as “nervous” and noticed he was “sweating profusely.” Santa Rosa police said officers found an AR-15 style rifle in the back seat, slightly concealed by a blanket. Upon further investigation, officers determined the firearm was an unloaded and secured Eagle Arms Eagle-15 rifle in 5.56mm caliber. However, the weapon was unregistered.

The driver was identified as 27-year-old Adonay Efriem of Santa Rosa.

Efriem was booked into the Sonoma County Adult Detention Center on charges of possession of an assault weapon.
