Man fatally shot after argument at northeast Houston apartment complex

A man was killed following an argument at a northeast Houston apartment complex, police say.

The incident occurred Saturday evening at the Pinewood Apartments on Greens Road near George Bush Intercontinental Airport, with officers responding to a shooting at 9:40 p.m.

When police arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound. Witnesses reported seeing two men arguing before one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other, before fleeing.

Videos from the scene show dozens of residents standing outside as officers inspected the area. Following witness reports, a tactical unit was called in to comb the complex.

“We were just being cautious at that point. “There were multiple eyewitnesses here who said they may have seen someone running in that general direction, toward a possible apartment,” said Houston Police Department Lt. Daniel Salinas. “We went to get consent to do a search, and we searched, and nothing came up.”

HPD has not yet identified the victim. Family and friends at the scene described the man as a good person. The suspect remains at large and police are actively searching for him.
