Police: Waterloo man charged after investigation into sexual abuse of 12-year-old

Two days after an incident in the village, police arrested a Waterloo man as part of a sexual abuse investigation.

On June 24, at approximately 7:02 p.m., Charles J. Asbury, 44, of Waterloo, was arrested for first-degree sexual abuse, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree false imprisonment.

The arrest stems from an incident on June 22 in which Asbury allegedly made sexual comments to a 12-year-old youth and then held him down on a couch while touching his intimate body parts.

Asbury was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment and an order of protection was filed on behalf of the victim.
