Atlanta Braves probable pitchers and starting lineups vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, June 30

The Braves had an exciting finish in Saturday’s game against the Pirates in Atlanta. Paul Skenes and Max Fried pitched well, allowing just one run each in six innings. It took a courageous play at the plate and extra innings to secure the victory for the home team.

Atlanta fans will need to be ready for an early game on Sunday if they want to see the Braves attempt to sweep the Pirates. The match will stream exclusively on Roku at 11:35 a.m. EST and will be free (more details below). Let’s take a look at Sunday’s starters and lineups to prepare for a big game.

Spencer Schwellenbach (1-3, 5.40 ERA) Spencer made his sixth start for the Braves on Sunday and he played pretty well for someone who had barely played professional baseball before getting the call. Spencer showed that he can mix his pitches well and certainly has the skills to be a great major league pitcher, but he still needs to work on his skills a bit.

Schwellenbach’s last outing came against the Cardinals and he allowed four runs in five walkless innings with six strikeouts. The most impressive thing about that start was not allowing a free pass, as he had allowed at least two walks in his previous three starts.

Bailey Falter (3-6, 4.00 ERA) was drafted by the Phillies in 2015 and made his MLB debut with them in 2021. He appeared in games for Philly over the next two seasons before being traded to the Pirates. 2024 was a mixed bag for him as the first two months were pretty good but June was a rough one for the lefty. He went 0-4 with a 6.63 ERA in June with 14 earned runs allowed, six walks and 16 strikeouts.
