Silver Springs woman arrested for kidnapping and drug possession

On June 29, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division received a 911 call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon and possible kidnapping at gunpoint in the 8500 block of Santa Fe Trail in Stagecoach.

Officers from the Central Command Patrol and detectives from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division responded and began searching for the suspect vehicle. After approximately 90 minutes of searching, the suspect vehicle was located in a parking lot of the Silver Springs Casino. Both the suspect and the victim were found inside the vehicle. The victim was uninjured. Also inside the vehicle was the handgun described by the original caller, as well as a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of this incident, 55-year-old Brandy Moore of Silver Springs was arrested on suspicion of the following charges: kidnapping, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by an unauthorized person, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Moore is currently being held in the Lyon County Jail on $323,640 bail.
