The Miami Beach Commission has repealed Diddy Day for the city of Miami.

Miami revokes Diddy Day due to sexual harassment allegations

According to Miami-Herald According to a report released last Wednesday (June 27), the Miami Beach Commission has revoked a proclamation declaring October 13, 2016, as “Sean Diddy Combs Day.” This came three months after the disgraced hip-hop mogul’s South Beach mansion was raided as part of a federal sex trafficking investigation.

Diddy was first given the honor in 2016 by then-Mayor Philip Levine and the City Commission during the 3rd Annual Revolt Music Conference. Officials cited the video leaked to the media in 2016 showing Diddy physically attacking his then-ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura as the reason for the decision to cancel Diddy Day.

Diddy has since apologized for his inexcusable behavior in the video.

“After careful consideration, the Mayor and City Commission have concluded that the proclamation of October 13, 2016 as ‘Sean Diddy Combs Day’ is no longer consistent with the City’s values of safety, community welfare and respect and wish to withdraw the proclamation,” the commission’s board said in a statement.
