Two pedestrians were hospitalized in downtown Boise on Saturday evening following a “series of serious accidents.”

Boise Police closed a section of Main Street and asked drivers to avoid part of downtown between Main and Idaho Streets and between 6th and 11th Streets.

The “suspicious driver” has been located, Boise police said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. The adult male driver was taken to a hospital, BPD spokeswoman Haley Williams told the Idaho Statesman.

The two pedestrians hospitalized were adult women, Williams said.

An Idaho Statesman reporter saw a large SUV with dents on the side and long barrier tape around Main Street.

“Officers are investigating a series of serious crashes,” BPD said in the X-post. “The suspected driver has been located and the investigation is ongoing. Two pedestrians were injured and transported to a local hospital. Any witnesses or anyone whose vehicle was damaged who has not yet spoken to police are asked to call the Ada County dispatch center at 208-377-6790.”

The incidents occurred on the same night that a certain section of the inner-city streets north of the police investigation area was closed due to the Twilight Criterium cycling race.
