All clear after UAB warning about attempted robbery near campus on Saturday

Campus operations are back to normal after police officers responded to a reported robbery near the University of Alabama at Birmingham. On June 29, an alert was sent out by UAB around 5:30 p.m. to avoid the area around the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South. About 15 minutes later, the all-clear was given and there was no active threat. UAB said there was an attempted robbery at the Circle K store near campus. The suspects left the area and no one was injured, a UAB spokesperson stated. Campus operations may return to normal after police responded to a reported robbery attempt near the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

On June 29 at approximately 5:30 p.m., a UAB warning was sent to avoid the area around the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South.

About 15 minutes later the all-clear was given and there was no active threat.

According to UAB, there was an attempted robbery at the Circle K store near campus.

The suspects left the area and no one was injured, a UAB spokesman said.
