Two dead in suspected alcohol-related accident near Reedley | YourCentralValley.com

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Investigators suspect alcohol may have played a role in a crash that killed two men just outside Reedley Saturday night, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP says they responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Englehart and Manning Avenue around 7 p.m.

Investigators determined that a Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on Englehart Avenue approaching the stop sign at Manning Avenue. A Ford F150 from Orange Cove, with three people inside, was traveling west on the Manning Avenue thoroughfare.

Investigators say that for reasons that are still unclear, the Chevrolet did not stop and ended up in the path of the Ford. The front of the Ford collided with the left front of the Chevrolet.

The driver and right passenger of the Chevrolet suffered fatal injuries. The occupants of the Ford suffered minor injuries.

CHP is investigating whether alcohol played a role in the crash, as some evidence suggests it did. Investigators are working to confirm this.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released, but investigators describe them as two men believed to be in their thirties.

The investigation is ongoing. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
