Man and woman found dead in Poinsett County home on Friday

The Poinsett County Sheriff said his office has launched an investigation after a man and woman were found dead in a Lepanto home Friday morning.

In a Facebook post Saturday, Sheriff Kevin Molder identified the man and woman as Justin Wiggins, 44, and Ashley Rawls, 39, both of Lepanto.

Authorities went to the house on Marlene Drive after someone called 911 a.m. Friday to report the two bodies, Molder said.

Molder said the sheriff’s office is assisting Lepanto police in the investigation.

“The residence and the area surrounding the home are considered a crime scene,” Molder said on Facebook on Friday. “The investigation has begun and the bodies will be sent to the Arkansas Medical Examiner.”

In Saturday’s update announcing the names of those found dead, Molder said the sheriff’s office “will continue to release information as it becomes available.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends,” Molder said.
