Woman killed in shooting in Denver

Police have not named any suspects in connection with the shooting.

DENVER – Police are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead in Denver on Saturday.

Shortly before 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, Denver police posted on social media that they were investigating a shooting in the 800 block of South Dexter Street.

One victim was found, police said. They later announced that the victim, a woman, had died and that the shooting was being investigated as a homicide.

A police spokesman said the shooting occurred in a private home.

DPD said investigators are working to gather information on the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who submit a tip anonymously. The information is shared with law enforcement and Crime Stoppers is notified once the investigation is complete.

A rewards committee then reviews the information provided and if the information leads to an arrest, the whistleblower is notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
