Police identify a 30-year-old man killed in the Belmont shooting

The 30-year-old man killed in a shooting in Belmont has been identified, police said.

Investigators say Jeffrey Lopez was shot in the head shortly after 6:30 p.m. at East 187th Street and Beaumont Avenue, a few blocks from Lopez’s home.

Lopez was taken to a hospital where he died.

Witnesses at the scene told News 12 they heard six gunshots.

The shooter is at large.
