ABC-7 First Alert: Temperatures remain hot in the border region, but will be cooler this week

Due to the high temperatures in the border region, the ABC-7 initial warning applies to us. Temperatures of up to 42 degrees Celsius are expected today.

Due to the monsoon, there is a probability of rain in the border region every day this week.

We’re also continuing to monitor showers and thunderstorms in the Sacramento Mountains as a flash flood warning is in effect for those up there. Ruidoso is under a flash flood warning due to burn scars from the Blue 2, South Fork and Salt fires.

For the rest of the working week, temperatures will cool to above 35 to below 38 degrees.
