Motorcyclist dies in chase on I-45 Gulf Freeway after collision with guardrail, HPD

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A motorcyclist was killed Friday evening after crashing into a guardrail near the I-45 Gulf Freeway at the 610 South Loop.

According to Houston police, the accident occurred around 10:40 p.m.

According to police, South Houston police initially pursued a motorcyclist for traffic violations but called off the pursuit after three minutes.

According to officials, the motorcyclist drove over the guardrail at high speed and ended up on the southbound lane of I-45.

Police officers and firefighters initiated life-saving measures, but the motorcyclist was later pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The identity of the motorcyclist was not disclosed.
