Special education teacher charged with sexual abuse of Freehold student

FREEHOLD, NJ — A Freehold Intermediate School teacher has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of one of her students, the Monmouth County District Attorney’s Office announced Saturday.

Allison Havemann-Niedrach, 43, of Jackson, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, District Attorney Raymond Santiago said.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Havemann-Niedrach has been a special education teacher at Freehold Intermediate School since March 2022. According to her profile, she has worked as a teacher or substitute teacher at several schools since 2008.

Prosecutors said investigations revealed that Havemann-Niedrach began sexually abusing the child earlier this year. Authorities did not, however, provide any information about how the behavior came to light or how often she abused the student.

Havemann-Niedrach was arrested without incident Thursday and is being held at the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold Township pending her initial appearance and detention hearing.
