Man arrested and charged with murder following investigation into suspicious death at Major Company

A 42-year-old man is in custody and faces first-degree murder charges following an investigation into a suspicious death in Major County, authorities said.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said Floyd Dean Cox was arrested in Enid and taken to the Garfield County Jail on June 27 after being questioned by OSBI agents.

According to authorities, Major County officials responded to a Ringwood home on June 7 where 31-year-old Tyler Sladek was found dead.

The medical examiner determined that Sladek had wounds consistent with homicide. The Major County Sheriff’s Office called in the OSBI to assist in the investigation.

No further details about the death were released.
