The match between Germany and Denmark was postponed for 24 minutes due to thunder and lightning.

Due to thunder and lightning in Dortmund, Germany’s knockout match against Denmark for the 2024 European Championship was delayed by 24 minutes.

The English referee Michael Oliver stopped the goalless round of 16 match after 35 minutes because the weather changed.

While it was pouring with rain in the Westfalenstadion, the players of both teams stood on the sidelines for a few moments before being led into the dressing rooms.

The round of 16 began in good weather, but after more than half an hour the conditions changed.

There were loud claps of thunder, lightning, heavy rain and hailstones as fans of both teams tried to take shelter under makeshift covers.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou told ITV: “I’m surprised it’s taken this long to take them off because there have been some pretty bad incidents with them.”

Eventually the rain let up and the players returned for a five-minute warm-up before starting again.
