Diplo accused of ‘revenge porn’ in new lawsuit filed by woman he allegedly dated

DJ Diplo was accused of distributing revenge porn in a lawsuit filed in California on Thursday.

An unknown woman has sued the Grammy-winning producer, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, for taking sexually explicit images and videos of her without her consent and sharing them with third parties, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.

The New York-based woman claims to have been in a physical relationship with Diplo since June 2016 after they began sending each other sexually explicit messages on Snapchat in April of that year. She claimed their relationship ended in 2023.

According to the court filing, Doe allowed Diplo to film the two having sex at times, “but made it clear that she did not want Defendant Diplo to film her engaging in sexual activity without her express consent, nor did she want him to share images and/or videos with third parties, and never gave him consent to do so.”

However, in November 2023, the woman claimed she had been contacted by a third party who had received material showing her and the musician having sex.

Doe was allegedly told that the person received the pornographic content, which showed her “genitals, buttocks and face,” on October 14, 2018. The material was allegedly sent via Snapchat.

After their conversation, the unnamed person who contacted Doe reportedly filed a police report, with Doe claiming that “the NYPD has issued an arrest warrant for Defendant Diplo for distributing intimate images and/or videos depicting her.”

Doe is seeking up to $150,000 in damages.

Representatives for Diplo did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

However, his lawyer Bryan Freedman dismissed the lawsuit in a statement to Deadline.

“Time and again, Wes has been targeted by a group of unreliable individuals and their unscrupulous lawyers who cobble together falsehoods in search of a meaningless payday,” said Bryan Freedman. diplo/Instagram

“In every case where Wes has been accused of inappropriate behavior, the result has been either an immediate dismissal of a bogus lawsuit coupled with an apology, court-ordered compensation for Wes in excess of $1.2 million, or the slow end of an obvious extortion attempt that went absolutely nowhere,” argued the successful Hollywood lawyer.

“Time and again, Wes has become the target of a group of unreliable individuals and their unscrupulous lawyers who cobble together untruths in search of an undeserved payday.”

“This lawsuit appears to be just a continuation of the same old story, so we have no reason to believe it will turn out any differently than all the others.”

On the contrary, Doe’s attorney Micha Liberty of Liberty Law told Page Six, “Diplo’s actions represent a serious abuse of power and a blatant disregard for human dignity. It is imperative that we as a society condemn such actions and hold perpetrators accountable.”

“Our courageous client’s story is one of Diplo’s many worst-kept secrets, and the filing of this lawsuit is her first step toward civil justice,” added another of Doe’s attorneys, Margaret E. Mabie of Marsh Law.

This isn’t the first time Diplo has been accused of recording and distributing sexually explicit videos without the other party’s knowledge or permission. Another unnamed woman accused the “Elastic Heart” hitmaker of doing so in 2021 – and knowingly infecting her with chlamydia.

He denied the allegations, claiming the lawsuit was brought by a fan-turned-stalker. He also claimed that all sexual encounters between them were “consensual.”

He was previously accused of sexually harassing Marchel Auguste in 2020 and recording their sexual encounters without her consent. She managed to obtain a restraining order against him.

According to Pitchfork, she currently has legal action against him for sexual assault, gender-based violence, assault, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more.

Also in 2020, rapper Azealia Banks claimed that Diplo groomed her and had sex with her when she was 17 and he was in his 30s.

“He always targets young girls from different ethnic groups,” she criticized him sharply.
