Buckeye police expand search for woman missing since May

INDEPENDENT NEWS MEDIA

Authorities have expanded the search for a 46-year-old woman who has been missing since May 22 after she was last seen near Interstate 10 between Verrado and Watson Road.

Police recently contacted a forensic interviewer to speak with the woman’s son, who is autistic and has limited communication skills. She said they had received additional details and were now searching further north of the highway.

Police were notified of Hope Tucker’s disappearance on June 22 after discovering that she had been missing for a month.

Tucker and her son were driving the car on the morning of May 22 when it broke down, police said.

Her son was found on May 24 and hospitalized for about a month. He was then placed in the care of a family member who called Phoenix police after telling her what had happened.

Buckeye authorities were notified and the search began.

Anyone with information on Tucker’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or submit a tip online at www.buckeyeaz.gov/crimetip.
