Minister: Police officer injured, ‘attacker’ killed in front of Israeli embassy in Belgrade

A Serbian policeman killed an “attacker” who injured him with a crossbow in front of the Israeli embassy in Belgrade on Saturday, the Serbian Interior Minister said.

At around 11:00 a.m. (09:00 GMT), an “unknown person, whose identity is still being determined, shot a gendarmerie officer responsible for protecting the Israeli embassy with a crossbow, hitting him in the neck,” Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said, adding that the officer “used the weapon in self-defense and defeated the attacker, who died as a result of his injuries.”
