Man killed in shooting at Kemper Street Apartments in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Lynchburg are working to determine what led to a fatal shooting at the Kemper Street Apartments on May 8.

Lynchburg police said officers responded to the 1400 block of Kempter Street for a malicious wounding report just before 8 p.m. Wednesday.

While on scene, responders learned that a man, later identified as 23-year-old Bolden Jared Eubanks of Lynchburg, was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.

Lynchburg police then learned that Eubanks died from his injuries.

According to LPD, 43-year-old Deshanta Olisha Marshall of Lynchburg was arrested shortly thereafter and charged with:

• Second degree murder
• Use of a firearm in the commission of a crime
• Endangerment of children through criminal acts

Marshall is being held without bail at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

This is an active investigation.
