Weather in Maryland: First warning days for the weekend

BALTIMORE — Unsettled weather is expected in Maryland this weekend. A day with First Alert weather Due to possible storm dangers, a weather warning has been issued for Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will be muggy and warm this morning, close to average, with temperatures in the 20s expected for a few hours. A few clouds will move in during the second half of the day, but we will remain mostly dry until the evening. Humidity will increase in the late afternoon as temperatures begin to rise. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in the late afternoon and evening.

The maximum temperatures for today, Saturday, will be just over 35 degrees and it will be very humid.

Much of the activity is expected west of I-83.

Sunday will likely see a second round of showers and thunderstorms across the region, but that will depend heavily on cloud cover during the morning hours. Despite this, a few showers are still likely. Things will get even hotter Sunday afternoon, giving us the right ingredients, but timing will have a big impact on things.

Our biggest concerns are wind and heavy rain, but tornadoes cannot be ruled out at this time.

Next week will be cooler and drier as we observe the aftermath of the passing frontal system and high pressure area.
