New York man arrested for child sexual assault

A Malone man is facing multiple charges in connection with incidents involving sexual conduct with children. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Malone was investigating 51-year-old William Brand. Police determined Brand had inappropriate contact with a child under 11 years old. He was arrested April 22 and charged with predatory sexual assault of a child, second-degree sexual conduct with a child and first-degree sexual conduct with a child. Through further investigation, additional victims came forward claiming that Brand had inappropriate sexual contact with a child on multiple occasions. On April 30, state police arrested Brand again. He was charged with sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 13 and sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 11. Brand was arraigned and held in the Franklin County Jail on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond. The case was presented to a Franklin County grand jury. Brand is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Court later this month.
