Houston Dash suffer shutout loss to KC Current, Temwa Chawinga

The Dash fell 2-0 away to the Kansas City Current on Friday night, extending Houston’s goal drought to four straight games.

Temwa Chawinga scored both of Kansas City’s goals, striking in a three-minute span late in the second half.

Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell made seven saves, extending her NWSL lead (74 saves) and continuing her stellar campaign. Campbell also reached 500 career regular-season saves on Friday, becoming the fourth player to reach that milestone and the first to do so with the same club.

Houston travels to SeatGeek Stadium in Chicago to face the Red Stars in a noon game on July 6 in the club’s final league game before the Olympic break.
