Dorchester incident leaves one dead, one injured; report of shooting under investigation – NBC Boston

According to police, one person is dead and another injured after a car rammed a house in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood.

The Boston Police Department initially told NBC10 Boston that a person had been shot on Fifield Street around 9 p.m.

Paul McLaughlin, deputy superintendent of the Boston Police Department, later retracted this confirmation in a speech at the scene and said that the police were investigating “whether it was a shooting or not.”

McLaughlin said an accident was reported at a house around 8:30 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, McLaughlin said. A passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, probably a broken leg.

According to McLaughlin, homicide investigators arrived at the scene.

According to police, no arrests have been made so far.

Further information was not initially available.
