Investigations underway after accident in Dorchester resulting in death and broken leg

DORCHESTER – Police are investigating a crash in Dorchester that left one person dead and another person with a broken leg Friday night.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., police responded to the area of 24 Fifield Street for a reported accident.

One person in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while another occupant suffered a broken leg, Boston police said.

Police believe that investigations into the death are ongoing.

Boston police initially stated that the incident was a shooting.
