Las Vegas escort dies after incident in hotel room; man in custody

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – An escort has died after an incident in a Las Vegas hotel room, investigators learned from 8 News Now. (KLAS)

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A man was taken into custody Friday after one of his companions was killed in an incident in a Las Vegas hotel room, 8 News Now investigators learned.

The 30-year-old woman died several days after the June 12 incident at the Palms Casino Resort. On Friday afternoon, Jason Kendall turned himself in to police at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police headquarters, where officers arrested him on murder and sexual assault charges, a source familiar with the investigation said.

Las Vegas Metro Police initially responded to the 911 call about an assault at the hotel, records say.

The woman later died in hospital. The cause and manner of death were not known Friday, but a murder charge indicates that her death was likely a homicide.

While Metro Police issue a press release for every homicide, they do not issue a press release for delayed death cases.

The victim, whose name was known to 8 News Now investigators, appeared online on various escort websites. 8 News Now was waiting for confirmation from the medical examiner to be able to publicly identify her.
