Scranton man sentenced for aggressive driving

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A Scranton man was convicted of possession of a firearm during a road rage incident after previously being convicted of a felony punishable by more than one year in prison.

The Middle District of Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office announced that 28-year-old Victorious Minter of Scranton was sentenced to 100 months in prison for a weapons offense.

According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam’s January 5, 2022 filing, Minter had a loaded Glock 22.40 caliber semi-automatic pistol with 24 rounds in an extended magazine. He possessed the weapon after previously being convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year in prison.

U.S. Attorney Karam said evidence during the trial showed that Minter brandished a gun at another motorist on the North Scranton Expressway during an incident of driving aggression.

The press release states that after another driver called 911, officers conducted a traffic stop in Minter and discovered a loaded handgun in the car and a two-year-old child in the back seat.

U.S. District Judge Robert D. Mariani sentenced Minter to 100 months in prison.
