Traffic Alert: Two accidents on I-25 SB, multiple vehicles involved

Albuquerque –

Shortly before 1:00 p.m., an officer with the Albuquerque Police Department notified dispatch that there had been multiple car accidents on I-25 southbound (SB).

One accident occurred on I-25 SB near Candelaria, the other on I-25 SB near mile marker 226, near the Big I. The accident on I-25 SB near Candelaria has the middle lane closed, according to NM DOT. The accident on I-25 SB near mile marker 226 has the middle lane closed, according to NM DOT. One of the accidents involves four cars.

The Albuquerque Fire Department has also been on scene since 1:02 p.m. Engine 19 and Rescue 19 were dispatched to the scene of the accident on I-25 SB near Candelaria. Engine 13 and Rescue 13 were dispatched to the scene of the accident on I-25 SB at mile marker 226.

There is also an accident at the corner of Broadway and Central and 4th and Cutler.
