LUCKNOW: Three days after portions of the newly constructed Ram Path in Ayodhya leading to the Ram Temple collapsed due to the first pre-monsoon rains, the Uttar Pradesh government has suspended six engineers – three each from PWD and Jal Nigam – for negligence and dereliction of duty, reportedly.

A notice has also been sent to Bhugan Infracon Pvt Ltd, based in Ahmedabad (Gujarat), which is responsible for some of the civil engineering works in the city.

PWD’s chief engineer Dhruv Aggarwal, assistant engineer Anuj Deshwal and junior engineer Prabhat Pandey were reprimanded for poor road construction.

Anand Kumar Dubey (superintendent engineer), Rajendra Kumar Yadav (assistant engineer) and Mohammad Shahid (junior engineer) of Jal Nigam were suspended over drainage problems leading to waterlogging in several parts of the city.
