1 dead and 1 arrested in shooting at Howell store

LANSING, Michigan (WLNS) – Officers with the Howell Police Department responded to a complaint of threats at a local business just before 5:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of W Grand River Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a man inside the building who had died from a gunshot wound.


Officers arrested one person in the building.

Below is a statement from Howell Police:

We would like to stress that there is currently no danger to the public. This incident did not occur near the Balloonfest event and is in no way related to it. This was an isolated incident and all persons involved are currently cooperating with the investigation. We ask that no one come to the scene to give investigators time to conduct their investigation.
