4 dead and 9 injured after car crash in nail salon on Long Island

Four people were killed and nine others were injured when a vehicle crashed into a nail salon on Long Island, New York, on Friday afternoon.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the car crashed into the Hawaii Nail & Spa on Grand Boulevard in Deer Park.

A witness told NBC New York that the minivan drove through the front of the store and almost came out the back of the salon.

Witnesses said the van attempted to pass another vehicle as it drove into the building, NBC New York reported.

It is not clear if the victims were in the vehicle or in the store, officials said. The driver of the vehicle was transporting people to a hospital, and
