Jessica Fonseca dies, Charles Rubin charged with driving under the influence of alcohol: Two-vehicle crash at Millbrae Avenue and Stony Point Road

SANTA ROSA, CA (June 28, 2024) — Jessica Fonseca died in a two-car accident involving drunk drivers at the intersection of Millbrae Avenue and Stony Point Road.

According to the Sonoma County Sheriff, the fatal accident involving two vehicles occurred on Friday at around 10:23 p.m. The 54-year-old was arrested for drunk driving. Charles Phillip Rubin drove his westbound Fiat 500 through the stop sign at the intersection. His Fiat then collided with a southbound Nissan Altima, hitting the driver’s side and killing 34-year-old Fonseca.

According to family members, Fonseca helped others as an addiction counselor and had been sober for eight years.

After the accident, Rubin was arrested by police for drunk driving and taken to the Sonoma County Jail in Santa Rosa.
