Suspect charged in connection with stabbing and shooting on I-5 in Washington

PORTLAND, Oregon (KOIN) — A suspect has been charged after A driver was found dead and three passengers in the vehicle were injured in a stabbing and shooting incident on Interstate 5 in Washington on Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect’s identity has not been released by police, but the Washington State Patrol said the original incident stemmed from calls reporting domestic violence and a shooting on I-5 northbound near South 375th Street in Federal Way. Callers also reported seeing a BMW in a ditch and injuries in and around the car.


When police arrived, they found a man and a woman with stab wounds outside the car. Next to the car, they found another man with multiple gunshot wounds. The driver was found dead inside the car with a large stab wound to the neck.

The woman and the two men were taken to hospital.

Further investigations revealed that the shot passenger in the back seat was also suspected of stabbing the driver and the other passengers.

WSP said the suspect is still hospitalized but will be booked into the King County Jail on one count of premeditated murder and two counts of first-degree assault.

The names of those involved will not be released by authorities until King County
Until the public prosecutor files charges or the suspect goes to prison.

Law enforcement added that the investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to submit dashcam videos.
