Greater Bay Airlines is suspending flights from Hong Kong to Singapore after just one month

SINGAPORE: Greater Bay Airlines will suspend its scheduled service between Hong Kong and Singapore from June 1, just over a month after its launch.

In response to queries from CNA on Thursday (May 9), the Hong Kong-based airline said it had decided to suspend the service “until further notice due to commercial reasons and taking into account the latest market situations.”

The daily service was launched on April 26th.

“We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to our passengers,” the airline said.

“To minimize the potential impact on passengers, we will contact our passengers directly to make flight protection, rebooking or refund arrangements and all associated fees will be waived.”

In its response, the airline also expressed its “heartfelt thanks” to its passengers and stakeholders “for their continued support.”

“We will learn from the experience and strive to explore new potential destinations, improve the service of existing routes and cooperate with travel agents in the charter business,” it said.

Greater Bay Airlines began scheduled passenger service in July 2022 and also flies between Hong Kong and Bangkok, Manila, Osaka, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo.

The company also previously operated a connection between Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh City.
