Following the completion of the police investigation in July last year, the authorities referred the case for immediate trial and, on the court’s instructions, the 20-year-old remained in custody as a suspect for the purposes of the trial.

After examining all the evidence, the court found the man guilty on June 10.

On June 20, the man was sentenced to eleven years in prison.

The prosecution called five witnesses to the stand, all of whom the court considered credible.

The victim and one of her friends, both from an EU country, also testified in court about the incident.
