Fourth of July Celebrations in Metro Atlanta

Looking for ways to celebrate Independence Day? Here’s a list of deals in the Atlanta metro area!

ATLANTA — The Fourth of July is fast approaching and metro Atlanta is ready to party! Celebrations will be happening throughout the next week in preparation for Independence Day, and 11Alive has compiled a list of great options to check out when planning your vacation.

AJC Peachtree Road Race

The 55th annual Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 4. The race begins at Lenox Square at 3393 Peachtree Road in Atlanta.

The world’s largest 10km race brings together participants aged 10 to 98!

Freedom Celebration at Mount Paran North

The Mount Paran North Freedom Celebration is a fun, free event for all ages. This year’s event will take place June 28 at 6 p.m. at 1700 Allgood Road in Marietta. The evening will feature food trucks, live music, a kids zone with inflatables and fireworks.

Admission is free. Tailgating is encouraged and attendees are reminded to bring lawn chairs.

Red, White and Boom!

The city of Norcross welcomes back Red, White & Boom to kick off Independence Day festivities. Food, live music, face painting and, of course, fireworks will be on the menu.

The event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 3 at Lillian Webb Park. Admission is free. Participants may bring blankets and chairs to sit on, but shade structures, tents and umbrellas are not permitted.

July 4th at Lake Lanier

The Lanier Islands offer a variety of activities to enjoy on the 4th of July. Activities are scheduled every day from July 3rd through 7th.

Offerings include pickleball courts, bingo, fireworks, poolside and in-pool activities and more!

Six Flags Over Georgia Fireworks Celebration

Six Flags Over Georgia celebrates Independence Day with a fireworks display powered by Coca-Cola, July 3-6. The nighttime spectacle will take place at dusk in SUPERMAN: Ultimate Flight.

Guests can also experience the 4th of July in VIP with a VIP Fireworks Party, enjoying after-hours access to Hurricane Harbor Atlanta, an all-American buffet, a view of the fireworks premium and a new fireworks show with a special appearance by Looney Tunes, the Funtime Drumline, live singing and dancing with the cast of Surfin’ USA. Tickets for the VIP Fireworks evening are available online.

Daily tickets start at $29 online.

Fourth Fantastic Celebration

This Stone Mountain classic will light up every night from July 1-7 at 9:30 p.m. Fantastic Fourth Celebration was voted “Best Place to See Fireworks in Atlanta” by AJC readers, a “Can’t-Miss Fireworks Show” by USA Today, and one of America’s Top Picks. Reader’s Digest for “America’s Most Spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks.” This year there will be a new Music Across America light show with a fireworks finale.

During the day, park visitors can enjoy family-friendly attractions, watch live shows during Summer at the Rock, or hike the mountain! Admission to the evening show is included with attraction tickets or light show tickets only. Space is limited and arrival at the park by 5 p.m. is recommended.

Flute Players Parade

Decatur hosts its Pied Piper Parade on the 4th of July. The parade starts at 6pm and is followed by a concert at 7pm and fireworks at 9pm!

Those interested in registering for the parade can do so here . The line starts at 5:30pm on the day of the event. Participants can travel by foot, wagon, bike, car, float, or any other creative means they choose!

4th grade celebration at the park

The Marietta City Fair begins on July 4th at 10 a.m. and lasts all day. It will include a parade, free live music, an arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and a fireworks finale!
