Porn star Austin Wolf arrested after FBI investigation

Porn star Austin Wolf has been arrested and faces child pornography charges following an FBI investigation, the Justice Department said.

Wolf, whose real name is Justin Smith, is accused of “sending and receiving hundreds of child pornography videos through the Telegram application,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

“I want to be clear: Those who distribute images of child sexual abuse prey on the most vulnerable in our society. Each image is a crime scene that leaves lasting scars on innocent victims,” FBI Assistant Director James Smith said in a statement. “The FBI pursues these perpetrators relentlessly.”

Smith, 43, was charged with distribution and receipt of child pornography, which prosecutors say carries a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, and possession of child pornography, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years.

Prosecutors allege that the videos Smith sent and received “featured children as young as infants, including one video in which a 10-year-old child was tied up and raped.”

“In addition to sharing child pornography via Telegram, Smith is also accused of possessing hundreds of additional videos containing child pornography in his Manhattan apartment,” it said.

Smith is scheduled to be arraigned today in federal court in Manhattan.

Investigators say that between March 24 and March 28 of this year, Smith used an anonymous Telegram account to exchange hundreds of videos containing child pornography with another person on the messaging platform. That person’s phone was later seized and searched by the FBI.

An undercover FBI agent then began chatting with Smith’s anonymous Telegram account, revealing details that confirmed his identity, prosecutors said.
