Fatal police-involved shooting under investigation | The Mighty 790 KFGO

NORTH BRANCH, Minnesota (KFGO) – The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating after North Branch police shot and killed a woman Thursday night.

Officers responded to a report of an “intoxicated and suicidal female armed with a handgun.” One officer fired a non-lethal pepper grenade and another officer fired his weapon at the woman, striking her.

Officers attempted to treat the woman, but she died at the scene of the accident.

Body-worn cameras captured the shooting. Officers were placed on standard critical incident leave. North Branch is north of the Twin Cities.
