Neenah Police Department opens new state-of-the-art training center

NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – The Neenah Police Department opened a new training center Thursday that features nearly 10,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities and amenities.

The brand new training center includes a shooting range, gym, defensive tactics room, classroom and more.

After about eight years of work on the facility, officials are happy that it is finally here.

“We strongly believe in training, our mayor and city council believe in training. So in order to provide (our officers) with the best training, we had to provide them with the best facility,” explained Neenah Police Chief Aaron Olson. “This is a state-of-the-art facility that allows (us) to do all types of training, from hands-on, tactical, firearms and virtual reality training to a gym where we can train.”

Chief Olson also added that the large number of visitors to the facility’s open house shows how close Neenah Police officers are to their community.
