Shoplifter arrested at Walmart in Cortlandville

CITY OF CORTLANDVILLE, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – A woman was arrested Monday after allegedly shoplifting at the Walmart in Cortlandville.

On June 24, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Walmart at 819 Bennie Road for a report of a theft. After an investigation, it was determined that Cassandra Morgan, 28, of Cortland had stolen merchandise from the store before fleeing the scene.

Morgan was located and taken into custody. She was charged with petty theft, a Class A misdemeanor. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where she was booked and released on a summons.

Morgan is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Municipal Court for arraignment on July 8.
