Central Park in Chelmsford cordoned off by police after rape of teenager

A popular Essex park has been cordoned off by police following a report of a teenage girl being raped. Essex Police are investigating the incident in Chelmsford’s Central Park on Thursday (June 27).

Police said the investigation is ongoing and there is a visible police presence in the area. Photos from the scene show the park cordoned off and a police car blocking the road.



Essex Live has reported that the incident occurred this afternoon and Essex Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “We are investigating after a teenager reported she had been raped. She was reportedly attacked in Central Park in Chelmsford on June 27.

“Investigations are ongoing and there is a visible police presence in the area. If you have any information, CCTV or dashboard camera footage or other footage relating to this incident please contact us.
