Newport Police Arrest and Operation Report: June 27-28

The Newport Police Department has provided the following arrest and incident logs from 7:00 a.m. June 27, 2024, to 7:00 a.m. June 28, 2024.

Presumption of Innocence: Persons arrested, detained, or summoned/cited should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Thursday, June 27, at 9:31 a.m., Alexander Neal, age 24, of Fall River, Massachusetts, was taken into custody by Officer Reddington on a 2nd District Court warrant.

At 2:48 p.m., Timothy McKinney, 68, of Newport, Rhode Island, was cited by Officer Boghigian for possession of alcohol, drinking, and opening beverages in public.

On Thursday, June 27th, at 11:45 p.m., Kyle Shellman, age 34, of Charlestown, Rhode Island, was taken into custody by Officer Fanella for disturbing the peace and simple assault.
