Shamokin man charged with sexually abusing 15-year-old | Crime reports

Shamokin, Pennsylvania. – A man from Shamokin met a 15-year-old girl in a laundromat and allegedly had sexual contact with her a short time later.

Christopher Lee Miller, 34, is now accused of sexual assault for the June 17 incident. The next day, Shamokin police received a report that Miller was allegedly spending time with the 15-year-old.

During an interview, the girl told Patrolman Benjamin Busko that she met Miller at a laundromat. The girl cried and told police that she was afraid of Miller. The girl stated that she told Miller she was 15. Miller put his arm around her and told the girl to lie about her age and say she was 18, “or he would stab her,” Busko wrote in the affidavit. The girl told police that Miller had several knives on him.

The next day, Miller allegedly took the girl to a wooded area near Terrace Avenue and forced her to perform oral sex on him, the affidavit states. The girl then pushed him away.

When Busko interviewed Miller, he told him the two had been “cuddling” in the woods. Miller eventually admitted that the girl initiated oral sex and then pushed him away, Busko wrote.

Police charged Miller with sexual assault, involuntary sexual abuse of a person under 16, unlawful contact with a minor (sex offense), enticement of a minor and indecent assault of a person under 16. District Judge William J. Zalinski set bail at $150,000.

Miller remains in the Northumberland County Jail awaiting his preliminary hearing scheduled for July 16 in Zalinski’s office.
