Franklin

Hit and run

77 W. Monroe St., Ann’s Restaurant: At 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, it was reported that a car may have struck another car in the parking lot before leaving the area. Officers responded and found damage consistent with a side-on collision with a white van in the parking lot. An employee heard the crash and saw a white SUV parked next to the van drive away shortly afterward. Officers reviewed nearby surveillance footage that showed the crash and the SUV leaving the parking lot. Additional surveillance footage showed the vehicle leaving downtown. The SUV has not yet been located.

Youth problem

W. Jefferson St. and West St.: Wednesday, 8:52 p.m., it was reported that a juvenile was threatening someone with a knife. An officer responded but was unable to locate the juvenile at the scene. The officer went to the juvenile’s home in the 300 block of Johnson Avenue to speak with another juvenile involved in the incident. That juvenile said a boy in a white truck cursed at him and after an exchange of words, the boy pulled a knife on him. The juvenile did not know the boy but knew someone else in the vehicle. An officer eventually located the witness and the boy who allegedly pulled the knife. The boy denied pulling a knife on the juvenile. No one was hurt and the boy said he would stay away from the juvenile.

Wednesday, 5:48 p.m. – S. Morton St. and Schoolhouse Road.

Greenwood

vagrancy

W. Fairview Road and N. State Road 135: Vagrancy was reported at 11:48 a.m. Wednesday. Officers determined the panhandler was not engaging in any illegal activity.

Criminal mischief

3100 Meridian Park Drive, Kroger: On Wednesday at 11:50 a.m. it was reported that there had been a malicious damage to property.

theft

300 Marlin Drive, Menards: A theft was reported on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.

Investigation

Fry Road and N. State Road 135: An officer responded to a 911 call to investigate storm clouds at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office told the officer there were no signs of rotation within the storm.

Suspicious person/circumstances

1251 NUS 31, Macy’s: Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., a report was received of a suspicious person or circumstances in the parking lot. The area was fine. One vehicle was recovered and did not appear to have been ransacked. Its owner could not be located.

Accidents involving personal injury

Wednesday, 12:51 a.m. – S. Graham Road at the access road. A 35-year-old woman reported a graze on her face. The other driver was uninjured.

Accidents with property damage

Monday, 7:56 p.m. – Interstate 65 exit at Worthsville Road.

Tuesday 2:21 p.m. – I-65 exit at E. Main St.

Indecent exposure

Pennswood Road and Wakefield Road, Greenwood: Sheriff’s officers responded to a possible public nuisance incident in the 5000 block of Wakefield Road at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday. It was reported that an Asian man had pulled down his shorts while standing next to a woman who was on a walking trail. The woman said the man was in front of her and pulled down his shorts, exposing his buttocks but covering his genitals with his hands. The woman walked around the man, who was reportedly still walking behind her. The woman ran across the street and the man walked in the opposite direction down the walking trail. Another woman witnessed the incident as she drove by and made sure the first woman was unharmed. Officers found the male suspect near the intersection of Smith Valley and Morgantown Roads. He denied pulling down his shorts or urinating during the walk.

7195 S. Kern St., Hoosier Horse Park Office, Edinburgh: A livestock issue was reported at 12:06 a.m. Thursday.
