Shelter-in-place order for part of Fremont due to ‘police incident’

FREMONT, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are asking residents in a portion of Fremont to shelter in place due to a “police incident.”

Newaygo County Emergency Services is asking residents to avoid the area from Division and Merchant avenues to Cedar and Maple streets. Due to a “police incident,” residents in the area are asked to stay indoors and lock their doors.

No further information was released Thursday morning.
