According to the sources, departures at T1, which only handles domestic flights, have been suspended until 2 p.m. and the airport operator plans to temporarily shift operations from T1 to T2 and T3.

Shortly after the roof collapse, departures were suspended. Passengers who were already in the terminal boarded their flights.

Departures were completely stopped at around 7:30 a.m. Arrivals of flights were not affected, the sources said.

“This has resulted in flight cancellations in Delhi as passengers are unable to enter the terminal. Passengers already in the terminal will be able to board their scheduled flights, but those flying later in the day will be offered alternatives,” the airline said in a statement.

The airline also said that the unplanned situation had led to disruptions to operations across the network.

“Customers are advised to track and confirm the status of their flight before heading to the airport,” it said.

SpiceJet said in a post on X that flights have been cancelled as T1 remains partially closed for operations until further notice.
